Whole Sluice Gates Are Still Under Normal Conditions

Torrential rains that plied Jakarta on Saturday (6/18) morning, had left inundation in some streets. Nevertheless, the sluice gates in the capital are still in normal condition.

Rain leads to inundation as high as 20-30 cm at some points. But has been receded now

Executing Unit Head of Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), Denny Wahyu revealed some streets that were inundated have receded. Because drainage is currently quite good and only happens local rain.

"Rain leads to inundation as high as 20-30 cm at some points. But has been receded now," he stated, Saturday (6/18).

BMKG Says Heavy Rain to Fall Three Days Ahead

He continued, sluice gates that monitored are still in normal or alert status 4. There is only one sluice at alert status 3, namely Pasar Ikan with a height of 180 cm.

Denny added, at Pasar Ikan Sluice Gate, water level is also due to tidal wave or locally known as rob. Areas that must be watched are Muara Angke and Marunda.

"In North Jakarta, is prone to tidal wave," he told.

Here are water level lists of sluice gate on alert status 4 in Jakarta, as follows:

- Bendung Katulama, 40 cm 

- Depok, 160 cm

- Manggarai, 690 cm

- Karet, 470 cm

- Krukut Hulu, 140 cm

- Pesanggrahan, 100 cm

- Angke Hulu, 60 cm

- Pluit Reservoir, -150 cm

- Cipinang Hulu, 145 cm

- Sunter Hulu, 100 cm

- Pulogadung, 450 cm
